Join B.C. Walks and Walk for the Health of it!

UHS has partnered up with a number of local organizations to get the community walking with B.C. Walks, a wellness initiative to help everyone in our community walk their way to better health and improved physical fitness.

Walking is one of the best ways to become and stay fit.

• It's free -- All you need are comfortable clothes, a pair of sneakers or walking shoes, and the desire to become a healthier you!

• And easy -- Start slowly by walking just 10 minutes each day. Soon you'll work your way up to 20 minutes, then 30 minutes and before you know it walking will become a habit . . . a healthy way of life. Check with your doctor for advice before beginning an exercise program.

Ask your workplace if you can start a walking trail for employees and visitors to use. Take a 10 minute walk during your breaks from work and ask a friend to walk in the evenings with you.
